Western Power Sports is Reversing the Traditional Method for Bleeding a Brake or Clutch System with the V-5 from Phoenix Systems

In an effort to enter the powersports industry, Phoenix Systems has shaped one of their signature products, the V-5 Reverse Brake Bleeder, to help automotive technicians conduct clean, efficient, and thorough brake repairs on powersport vehicles.

Through a sales agreement between Phoenix Systems and Western Power Sports, a powersports product distributor, the patented V-5 Reverse Brake Bleeder will now be available to the entire WSP customer base. This agreement with WSP marks a large step that Phoenix Systems is taking towards entering the Powersports industry.

Western Power Sports (WPS) is a powersports product distributor with six US based warehouses and a large headquarters in Boise, Idaho. The was incorporated in 1960 and distributes many products that include off-road bike, street motorcycle, ATV, snowmobile, and watercraft parts, tools and accessories to thousands of dealers nationwide.

Phoenix Systems specializes in products for braking safety and brake system testing. The patented V-5 Reverse Brake Bleeder, one of their signature products, gives those conducting brake repairs the ability to perform a clean, efficient, and time saving repair.

Specifically for the powersports industry, the V-5 is a unique tool that offers amazing capabilities over current brake and clutch bleeding methods. The V-5 is known for its capabilities of reverse bleeding brakes. This is particularly useful for powersports vehicles, because not only does it push air in the direction in which it was intended to go, up, but it also allows for one man to conduct a fluid exchange on a brake or clutch system. Those with street and off-road bikes will be relieved as the inconvenience of having to place calipers over the bike itself, is no longer necessary.

Phoenix Systems partners with distributors and sales representatives, like Western Power Sports, to help get their products in the hands of the service professionals who can best use them. “With the help of Western Power Sports, we are able to extend our products to an even larger number of professional technicians. Western Power Sports has a solid reputation in the powersports industry and is held in high regard for their quality products. We look forward to working with WPS and having them help us develop our name in the powersports market,” said Phoenix Systems Representative.

WPS is currently the fastest growing nation-wide delivery system of powersports industry products and delivers these products through its regional warehouse network, with locations in Idaho, California, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Texas. WPS strives to bring powersports dealers the best in service, product and delivery. Phoenix Systems is excited to bring their innovative V-5 Reverse Brake Bleeder into the powersports industry and looks forward to developing their reputation within the market.

Diesel Truck Mechanic Inspires New Heavy-Duty Clutch Bleeder

Diesel Truck Mechanic Inspires New Heavy-Duty Clutch Bleeder

Phoenix Systems, in an effort to gain more recognition in the heavy-duty market, will now be featuring a MaxProHD with an adjusted length and customized fittings for clutch bleed screws. These adjustments will allow diesel mechanics to significantly cut the time it takes to bleed hydraulic clutch systems.

St. George, UT; September 16, 2016: Trevor Andrus is a diesel mechanic at Andrus Transportation, which owns a fleet of 320 tractors and 800 trailers. Recently Trevor discovered both Freightliner and Peterbilt have changed from their mechanical clutch system to a hydraulic system. Hydraulic clutch systems aren’t a new concept. Volvo Trucks have been using a hydraulic operated clutch for over 20 years. Hydraulic clutch problems often arise when a line leaks, or a slave cylinder no longer builds pressure. Considering trucks are exceeding over 1 million miles, these problems are occurring multiple times during their lifespan. With more trucks becoming equipped with a hydraulic operated clutch, Trevor has had more than his share of clutch bleeding nightmares.

In the past, Trevor removed the slave cylinder and hand pumped it for over 2 hours to get the trapped air out of the clutch system. He said that he resorted to removing the slave cylinder because pumping and holding the clutch pedal proved to be an even longer process.

“There are multiple clutch bleeding jobs each week that are taking all my time, and it frustrates me to see other guys in the shop replace an entire clutch system in the same amount of time,” said Trevor.

Out of frustration, Trevor asked his Snap-on driver if there was something that could get the air out of these almost impossible clutch systems. Initially, he was offered a vacuum bleeder, to which he replied, “been there done that, and it didn’t work.” Trevor then asked if there was a tool that could push the fluid in the opposite direction, similar to removing the slave cylinder and hand pumping it. The Snap-on driver then recommended that he try a reverse brake bleeder that was featured at a recent trade show he attended.

The key component that caught Trevor’s attention was the reverse bleeding process. Based on previous clutch bleeding experiences, he said the most frustrating part is trying to push all of the air down and out of the clutch lines. Phoenix bleeders take advantage of physics and push the trapped air in the direction it naturally wants to go, “up”. This patented technology was able to break down the clutch bleeding process from 2 hours, all the way down to 15 minutes.

Trevor’s success lead him to reach out to Phoenix Systems to give some constructive feedback and share his excitement. Trevor said that while the Phoenix bleeder saved him 2 hours of his time, there were a couple suggestions that he felt would make a Phoenix bleeder even better equipped to bleed a heavy-duty clutch. He recommended that the outlet hose be longer and the fittings more customized for clutch systems, then it would be perfect.

Trevor’s feedback motivated Phoenix Systems into determining how to make the MaxProHD Reverse Bleeder better fit for heavy duty clutch systems. After months of testing and with the assistance of Trevor and many other diesel mechanics, Phoenix Systems is proud to announce the addition of a longer outlet hose and upgraded fittings to make bleeding a heavy-duty clutch, a one-man, 15 minute, more reliable repair.

Phoenix Systems is excited to strengthen its presence in the Heavy-Duty market and is hoping that many technicians similar to Trevor and Andrus Transportation will catch onto the convenience a reverse clutch bleeder is able to provide.

Phoenix Systems Announces Three New European Brake Bleeding Kits

Phoenix Systems Announces Three New European Brake Bleeding Kits

Phoenix Systems Announces Three New European Brake Bleeding Kits

Owners of European model cars and the mechanics who work on them can now enjoy the convenience of Pressure Brake Bleeding with the introduction of three new Phoenix European Brake Bleeder kits. Each kit works with almost all European vehicles and provides superior brake bleeding with pressure, reverse, bench and vacuum bleeding capabilities.

St. George, UT (PRWEB) May 22, 2016: Phoenix Systems, the makers of the Reverse Brake Bleeder, has announced the addition of three new brake bleeder kits designed to fit almost all European model vehicles. This new addition is an effort to further provide more simplicity and convenience to mechanics and professional-technicians across the automotive industry. These three new European brake bleeding kits allow a much quicker method for pressure bleeding than traditional methods.

All of the European kits pair one of the three classic Phoenix brake bleeders with a master cylinder cap that is suitable for most European cars. The vehicle models for the cap include Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Fiat, Mercedes, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, SAAB, Volkswagen, Volvo, and all other cars with 45mm threaded hydraulic fluid reservoir cap.

The first of the three new kits is the MaxProHD European Brake Bleeder. This heavy-duty tool contains an aluminum alloy hand pump with a powder coated finish for easy clean up. The V-12 European Brake Bleeder is next in line, and is used regularly to bleed brake and clutch systems. This bleeder contains a hand pump made from high strength nylon zytel. Both of these brake bleeders are fully rebuildable and represent an excellent investment. These two are also considered professional level kits for the certified mechanic.

For home mechanics, Phoenix Systems launched the V-5 European Brake Bleeder. This introductory brake bleeder has the same mechanical functions as the other two, but with a more simple hand pump. All three of these kits are capable of performing pressure, reverse, bench, and vacuum bleeding. The master cylinder cap allows these three units to function as a pressure bleeder and makes the reverse bleeding process even quicker. All kits include attachments to fit bleed screws and clutch weep holes as well.

“We have been missing a huge part of the market by not reaching a number of European model vehicles,” said a Phoenix Systems representative. “With the addition of these three new kits, we are expanding our reach and ensuring our service providers who use our products can provide superior service to all of their customers.”

For over two decades, the Phoenix Systems brake bleeders have become a favorite among certified mechanics and owners alike. The company has made this new addition to these classic products, with hope of their clients being able to provide exceptional service to their own customers, or enjoy the convenience of professional brake bleeding at home. These European specific kits have been developed to break down the complicated brake job process into a simplified process  for these European made vehicles.

Phoenix Systems Announces Agreement to License and Market Ford-Branded Brake Fluid Test Strips

Phoenix Systems Announces Agreement to License and Market Ford-Branded Brake Fluid Test Strips

Phoenix Systems Announces Agreement to License and Market Ford-Branded Brake Fluid Test Strips

St. George, UT: Phoenix Systems has just announced a licensing agreement to produce and market Ford-branded brake fluid test strips.

The most interesting aspect of the test strips is the innovative thinking behind them. Though automobile brake lines are made of steel their bores are coated with copper, which eventually deteriorates and contaminates the fluid. The test strip alerts you to the degree of contamination, if any.

A brake fluid test strip takes seconds to conduct, provides proof of a needed brake fluid service and often results in additional business for a shop. If, indeed, the fluid needs to be renewed there’s the added benefit that, during the process, evidence of frozen calipers, torn seals or seized ABS units might be detected and addressed.

Brake fluid is regularly renewed in race cars, particularly road race cars though less so in passenger cars. However, the practice toward regular checks is gaining ground. Motivated by a simple color test that takes approximately 60 seconds to mature, it provides a visual indication of brake fluid health.

Phoenix developed the Ford product with the understanding that the brake fluid test needed to show the exact condition of brake fluid—no more guessing. Changing brake fluid when appropriate halts corrosion, extends the life of brake parts and improves safety.

Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price for 100-count bottle of test strips is $81.99

Background: Phoenix Systems originally blazed their trail in brake bleeders and more recently introduced the reverse bleeder, which was also licensed under the Ford brand name. A one-person operation the reverse bleeder is a light, portable device that bleeds brake and clutch systems in fewer than 10 minutes.

Ford approves two new brake bleeders from Phoenix Systems

St. George, UT: Phoenix Systems is introducing two newly Ford-approved reverse brake and clutch bleeders. Both offer one-person operation and bleed all brake and clutch systems in approximately ten minutes, including ABS.

Bleeding means removing trapped air and reverse bleeding means attaching the bleeder to a brake caliper bleed screw and simply pushing the air—and old fluid—in reverse flow up through the brake lines and out through the master cylinder. The bleeder pump draws in fresh fluid each time the handle is released.

The larger of these two patented bleeders, the Heavy Duty brake bleeder (PN 2002HD-Ford) is made of metal, carries a two-year warranty, and is endowed with 20ml increased capacity for faster, more efficient bleeding.

The Medium Duty brake bleeder (PN 2003-Ford) provides all the bleeding capabilities of the heavy-duty version but at a lower cost. This bleeder is constructed from high-strength Zytel nylon polymer and, like the Heavy Duty, fits all vehicle makes and models, including motorcycles and military vehicles.

Portable, lightweight and complete, these bleeding kits require neither electricity nor air—nor special tools or clips to bleeds ABS.

Phoenix Systems once again brings a first to the auto care industry with Coolant + Brake Fluid, the first testing strip that tests both coolant and brake fluid. With a double-ended design, Coolant + Brake Fluid provides auto repair shops with an affordable and effective way to determine when their customers need fluid flushes and replacement.

St. George, UT (PRWEB) October 6, 2015 — Phoenix Systems announces the launch of another industry-leading product, their new Coolant + Brake Fluid test strip. This double-ended test strip is the first test strip on the market that can diagnose both Coolant and Brake Fluid quality. With this single test strip, auto repair shops and service centers can test two fluids at once, ensuring that their customers’ vehicles are always in the best possible repair.

Coolant + Brake Fluid combines two of Phoenix Systems’ signature products: BrakeStrip and CoolantStrip. “Both BrakeStrip and CoolantStrip provide an invaluable service to our service center customers,” said a Phoenix Systems spokesperson. “By combining the two, we are able to increase that level of service, ensuring that every vehicle that enters the shop leaves with properly cared for engines and brakes. Also, by offering Coolant + Brake Fluid in one convenient strip, we are able to help our customers save a little bit of money.”

BrakeStrip provides a visual reference for brake fluid copper corrosion levels, a strong indicator that the fluid needs to be replaced. With this product, service centers can definitively tell their customers when their brake fluid is corrosive, and offer the replacement when it is needed. The brake fluid test is recommended for use with all DOT 3,4 and 5.1 brake fluid and follows MAP guidelines.

Improperly formulated coolant eventually leads to premature failure or overheating of the engine. Coolant + Brake Fluid provides a CoolantStrip test on one of its ends. CoolantStrip follows MAP, ASL and ASTM guidelines for coolant specifications. It also uses an integrated Glycol color metric scale, making it compatible for use with all coolant colors. It provides a visual recommendation for when it is time to correct or replace coolant.

The new Coolant + Brake Fluid strips come in a bottle that contains 100 double-ended strips, making it an effective and affordable option for the modern repair shop.

2015 Race Giveaway Winner

2015 Race Giveaway Winner

A big thank you goes to the Drews’ Family (Michael, Suzanne and Cheyenne) for sharing their experience they had with Larry Mac with us. Here is what they shared with us and some photos (Michael took more than 800 to document the trip) from their trip to Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“Ben,
On behalf of my family and I, we cannot begin to thank you enough for the opportunities we were given after winning your NASCAR contest. My dad has been taking me to the track in Daytona since I was six months old, so to have a trip with him, nineteen years later, to visit one of America’s most iconic NASCAR locations, was incredible. We were able to visit countless race shops, the Hall of Fame, gift shops, landmarks, and of course Charlotte Motor Speedway for the truck race as well as the All-Star. The hotel provided was a short five minutes from the track and we were out all hours of the day exploring and taking pictures. I don’t think I have ever seen my dad so happy to be somewhere and so sad to leave. We were able to meet people he has known only online from different race fan pages, as well as old friends he knew from years before. Our meet and greet with Larry McReynolds was one of the highlights, as our family knew him back when he was the crew chief for Davey Allison. He took time to show us the broadcasting trailer and catch up on old memories from early races and spoke on how much has changed. With over eight hundred pictures taken, (my dad didn’t take documenting lightly), we have included many for you to look through and witness a fraction of the fun we had. Again we thank you endlessly for sponsoring such a great contest and awarding us with a much needed vacation to an incredible city.
Sincerely,Cheyenne Drews”
“What an incredible trip of a lifetime. To not have be anywhere at a specific time except where we want to be when we want to be there-Anything racing! We can’t thank Phoenix Systems enough as well as you sir for making every step of the journey memorable. Here are a few pictures from the hundreds I took to get you started. i will send more to you via a cd or email or album I can post on your page, whichever you choose. Again thank you for all the help during the contest and then to be chosen the winner,we are speechless! Thank You a thousand times over. Looking forward to seeing you at the track one day to thank you in person. Have a Great day.
The Happy Winners,
Michael and Suzanne Drews”

ISN Adds Phoenix Systems’ BrakeShot to Product Lineup

BrakeShot, a product from Phoenix Systems, has joined the ISN product lineup. This innovative braking system enhancer is the first of its kind in the market, and ISN is pleased to offer it to their customers and clients.

St. George, UT July 15, 2015 — Integrated Supply Network has picked up Phoenix Systems’ BrakeShot to add to its product lineup. BrakeShot is the industry’s first brake fluid enhancer, a fluid added to braking fluid to help fight corrosion that comes from the effects of copper. ISN will now offer BrakeShot to its wholesale customers throughout the automotive industry, so they in turn can introduce their customers to the benefits of BrakeShot.

When asked about the addition of BrakeShot to its product lineup, a spokesperson from ISN said, “Our goal is to give our wholesale clients the products they need to be the best in the industry. That starts with finding unique products that will help our customers stand out. We were pleased to find BrakeShot, and feel that it is a true asset to our customers, which they can then pass on to their clients.”

BrakeShot helps prevent many problems associated with copper corrosion in the braking system, such as ABS braking problems, ailing master cylinders and sticking calipers. The product works by inhibiting corrosion to protect the metal in the braking system. It refreshes every 50 to 100 miles of driving. This, then, increases the lifespan of the braking system.

When asked about the new agreement, Ben Leamon Martinsen VP of Marketing & Operations said, “We are always thrilled when new supply chain providers take on our products, because it means we get our products to a greater number of distributors and resellers, which in turn gets them in the hands of an even larger number of potential users. ISN has a strong reputation in the automotive industry, and we look forward to partnering with them on BrakeShot”

Summit Racing Equipment Expands Product Lineup with Phoenix Systems’ BrakeShot

Phoenix Systems announces that Summit Racing Equipment has picked up BrakeShot Brake Fluid Enhancer. BrakeShot will help Summit Racing Equipment continue to be a leader in the high performance automotive industry by providing customers with the products they need to keep their vehicles in top condition.

St. George, UT June 3, 2015 — Summit Racing Equipment has chosen to add BrakeShot, from Phoenix Systems, to its product lineup. BrakeShot fights corrosion and the effects of copper in the brake system. By adding BrakeShot to its product lineup, Summit Racing provides customers with a way to protect the brake system on their high performance and specialty vehicles.

BrakeShot is designed with a formulation that retards copper corrosion in the brake system. This helps stop common brake system problems like sticking calipers or ailing master cylinders, and can extend the life of the braking system.

“BrakeShot is a crucial product for high performance vehicles,” said Ben Leamon Martinsen VP Marketing and Operations at Phoenix Systems. “Performance vehicles need to be able to stop quickly, and BrakeShot helps protect the brake system from corrosion for better performance.”

BrakeShot comes with BrakeStrip, another Phoenix Systems product, which is used to test the brake fluid to determine if BrakeShot is needed. This helps vehicle owners use it effectively. When BrakeStrip indicates copper levels between 50-175 ppm, vehicle owners add one bottle of BrakeShot into the master cylinder to fight the copper corrosion.

“We are always looking for new products that will improve the experience for our customers,” said a Summit Racing Equipment spokesperson. “When we came across BrakeShot, we felt it was an ideal option for our customers. It’s fast, affordable and effective, making it the perfect braking system enhancer for racing professionals.”

This agreement puts Phoenix Systems products in the hands of customers at one of the nation’s most well known auto parts stores.

Roy East, National Sales Manager for Balkamp Tools and Equipment, is excited about this addition to the company’s product lineup. “These tools have made a great impact with our customers and are providing them with a faster, better and safer way to finish the job, and, most importantly, provide complete comfort and reassurance to the customers they provide service to.”

According to East, customers have been asking for these products for a while. “These are great products that we have been asked about from the technicians for some time. I am proud to say we have them in our product selection.”

BrakeStrip Brake Fluid Test Strips, one of the two products now offered through this agreement, offers technicians a fast, affordable way to test the integrity of the brake system with a simple, 60-second test, and enables technicians to provide their customers with accurate recommendations and visual proof of the need to change brake fluid.

Rock Honda Reports Doubled Brake Fluid Flush Sales with New Service

Using BrakeStrip Brake Fluid Test Strips, Rock Honda, a Fontana, CA car dealership, was able to double the number of brake fluid flushes they sold.

Fontana, CA (June 6, 2014) – Rock Honda has announced a doubling of the company’s brake fluid flush sales after they started using BrakeStrip Brake Fluid Test Strips, one of Phoenix Systems’ brake system products. After starting the BrakeStrip System, the new and used car dealership experienced excellent growth in the number of brake fluid flushes they sold. Not only did this improve their bottom line, but it also improved their customer service and helped make their customers feel safer on the road.

Rock-Honda

“We had some changes in personnel last month on the drive,” said Ruben Serna, Parts and Service Director for Rock Honda. “However, we were selling about 125 to 150 brake fluid flushes per month, and we are now selling over 300 brake fluid flushes. We found that by showing clients the results of the brake fluid ‘test strip’, we have been able to also sell other services, like power steering flushes.”

While the increase in sales has benefited the dealership, it’s not the only benefit the dealership has seen. “Customers appreciate being told that we tested the fluid,” stated Mr. Serna, “and they love it when we tell them that their fluid has been tested and it passed! It’s almost as if they were studying for an exam and got a passing grade! The test strip is something tangible that helps our policy of ‘Show and Sell’!”

BrakeStrip is a fast, 60-second test that helps dealerships, like Rock Honda, show their customers the quality of their brake fluid. Dealerships can then recommend a brake fluid flush based on visual proof of contamination.

About Rock Honda

Rock Honda is a Fontana, CA based dealership that has been in business for more than 20 years and they are committed to exceeding customer expectations and offering customers the highest level of quest satisfaction available.

St George, UT: Phoenix Systems has announced BrakeShot, the first new brake fluid additive designed to fight corrosion induced by the harmful effects of copper.

BrakeShot uses DOT guidelines and is specifically formulated to retard copper corrosion in the braking system. BrakeShot prevents sticking calipers, ailing master cylinders, and other ABS braking troubles brought about by corrosion and high copper levels, in the brake system.

To determine if BrakeShot can cure a contaminated system, use BrakeStrip to determine the copper parts per million (ppm) in the brake fluid. BrakeStrip is a 60-second brake fluid test that turns shades of purple according to the level of copper in the braking system.

If the strip indicates a copper level of between 50-175ppm, simply add a one-ounce bottle of BrakeShot to the master cylinder. After 50-100 miles of driving, BrakeShot will re-energize the corrosion inhibitors to protect all the metals in the entire brake system and prevent further corrosion. If, however, the test strip indicates 200ppm or greater, the brake system requires flushing and the fluid replaced.

With multiple patents pending a one-ounce shot of BrakeShot treats up to 1 liter of brake fluid, which is the average capacity of a vehicle’s braking system. Cheaper and quicker than a brake flush, BrakeShot is universal and works on all foreign and domestic vehicles. Packaged in a case of 12, each bottle retails for $15-$20, and expected to be released in April 2014.

ST. GEORGE, Utah – Phoenix Systems listened to their customer feedback and has introduced a new MAXPRO-HD™ (Heavy Duty) – a reverse brake bleeding system that allows automotive service professionals to efficiently perform one-person brake services, including ABS.

The MAXPRO-HD works by removing trapped air in a brake system, which naturally wants to rise. The air is pushed up and out the master cylinder to create a firmer pedal.  This increases braking power, responsiveness, and reduces vehicle stopping time.  Constructed from durable die-cast steel and aluminum, the MAXPRO-HD is designed for professional use.

Features of the new MAXPRO-HD Reverse Bleeder make it the best bleeder available:

  • Brake fluid compatible powder coated finish that cleans easily
  • Smoother action handle to alleviate hand-stress
  • 2 year manufacturer warranty to prove the durability of the tool
  • Updated hard case for easier storage and cleanup of tool
  • 20 ml cylinder for a quicker bleeding process

“Our patented reverse brake bleeding system reduces the amount of time and the number of techs needed to perform brake and clutch service and achieve that perfect pedal, which is important for today’s shops looking to complete as many billable jobs as possible and eliminate comebacks,” said Jon Petty, CEO of Phoenix Systems.  “Plus, it’s versatile enough to perform a combination of bleeding techniques, including reverse, pressure, vacuum or bench to easily bleed ABS systems and clutches.”

Each MAXPRO-HD reverse brake bleeder comes with an updated hard case and is fully re-buildable so the consumer saves time and money if something ever does happen to the tool.  For more information, visit www (dot) brakebleeder (dot) com.
